This C-Side features some vertical wind rooms along with one of the longest and toughest rooms in the game at the end. At the end, before making it to the Crystal Heart to complete the level, the Old Woman can be seen and the player can talk to her. Only the summit of the mountain is featured in the C-Side and the vertically blowing wind makes a return in it, though in a different order than seen before. It's the final pre- Epilogue chapter which is a combination of mechanics from other chapters, however with the player's ability to double dash. After Chapter 6, Madeline and Badeline combine powers, giving them a second dash in-air. Previously, the player had to land on the ground before dashing a second time, but now, the player can dash twice before needing to land and recharge. Unlike the previous chapter, The Summit is a bit of a step up in difficulty, featuring a lot of platforming with no safe ground underneath. The last checkpoint features flags that count down until the player reaches the top. It effectively serves as the end of Celeste's main storyline; the Epilogue occurs after the events of The Summit. The Summit introduces five new mechanics: upwards wind also known as "upwind" , downwards wind also known as "downwind" , and sideways springs.
