The Codex Scanner is the device used to fill the Codex as its function is to scan objects and enemies that will provide necessary information for the players as they can encounter these targets again. The device allows the user to see enemies, destructible objects and important objects through walls and obstructions. It can also be used as a rangefinding device that can measure the distance from the scanner to the targeted terrain or object up to 50 meters. This is also the maximum range where players can see highlighted objects with a periodic pinging noise. This can be purchased in a set of 25 charges from the Gear section of the Market for Credits Once selected you will enter a "Scanner Mode" for your controls. Holding down the Aim button will activate a scanner HUD to view objects. Centering on an object with the Aim button and then holding down the Fire button will scan that object. While in "Scanner Mode" only a melee weapon can be used for combat. Hitting the Aim or Fire button will only invoke scanner functionality. Activating the scanner will not cost a charge. A charge is only used when a scan is completed by holding down the Fire button for the full duration of the scan.

I've purchased and equipped it from the Gear menu, I just don't know how the heck to use it. I've searched the forums but all I see is the same question asked without any answers. Is the key to this game doing roundabout research in order to be a decent player? Unexplained features a lot of them is the thing that will deter me from playing this game. I spend more time doing research for the game than actually playing it.

Codex scanner warframe

Asked by barryvest , February 20, I have now bought the fourth codex scanner. I have all the parts to make it "infinite" and yet it keeps disappearing from my gear wheel. I just don't understand the problem. It's the only piece of gear that does this and it has done this through multiple updates since the one prior to the release of Fortuna. As I stated previously, I have no need to rebuy the scanner as I have the widgets already. When I rebuy the scanner it already shows that I have purchased the widgets so I just understand where it goes.
