Dbx go rack
Had my first chance to use the GoRack at a gig this weekend. Review follows, first the context.

These rigs are used primarily for backyard graduation parties, etc. I have put these systems together by purchasing the components used via Craigslist, etc.

My only con is no phantom power. I just got a dbx Go Rack. It's a two channel PA processor. I took about a half an hour to mess with the presets using a music player through the mixer. Once I had it dialed in to my liking, I set up my acoustic guitar and vocal mic and ran it through it's paces. It sounded much cleaner then the EQ I had in the chain. The compressor is not overbearing. It's very smooth and enhances things rather then overpowering and squashing the signal. I messed a little with the sub-harmonic processor, but it's something I wouldn't use very often.

A further aux input allows for the connection of mobile music devices, with three routing options Mono, Stereo or Advanced that allow the processing to be bypassed for the aux input, or to be split in Advanced mode so that the aux input gets the sub-bass and EQ sections and the main input goes via the anti-feedback and compressor sections. Power comes from an included universal-voltage wall-wart adaptor.

Top-of-the-line audio engineers know the importance of getting a good overall sound for each performance space. I was thinking if there was a GoRack between the mixer and each monitor, that could nip it in the bud. I just got a dbx Go Rack. It's a two channel PA processor.
