Damn, I hate that designation. The difference in the two engines is one is pushrod, the other overhead cam. Most all modern engines are overhead valve engines.

Ive never checked, but this motor is likely a k mile oil change interval, per Ford, based upon driving conditions. This is prolly a 1 page thread at most. Camshaft is a more aggressive cam for 4. I know from experience that this was a very good motor. Thanks Kerry. Have you tired to trace the wires back on the sohc harness and see if one color goes to each injector. I don't know the maintenance intervals on that engine despite having owned an 08 Ranger But I'd imagine even if it said "replace timing chain s guide and tensioners at k, once people see what's involved it's not going to happen. Id say its likely why things lasted as well as they did. The entire running gear, drivetrain, steering, and suspension Ford also makes an engine that is 4.

The higher compression of the SOHC will limit the amount of boost that can be used. Now they have all the bugs worked out of them.
