Garelli moped
Total newbie looking to buy my first moped.
Garelli , an Italian manufacturer of mopeds and motorcycles, was founded in by the engineer Adalberto "Alberto" Garelli. The company produced small displacement two-stroke motorcycles and mopeds until it closed its doors in One significant feature of a Garelli moped is their rubber clutch design. These clutches allow for little to no tuning, since they have no adjustable parts like the mechanical clutches found in Puch, Minarelli and other moped engines. These rubber clutches rely on a thin layer of oil between the clutch and the clutch bell, which is pushed away as the rotational energy of the engine increases and expands the rubber clutch slightly outward into the bell. Too little oil , and the clutch grabs all the time, preventing the bike from idling when off of its stand.
