Gopro overheating
Gopro overheating anyone already done a test regarding the recording length of a video? My camera is switching off already after 22 Minutes because overheating Problem. Recording times and camera overheating are two different things.
A cold-weather battery pack is on the way, too. GoPro's Hero 10 Black camera is loaded with things that produce heat -- its processor, battery pack, displays, sensors and more. Crank up the performance and those things produce even more heat. In its compact, watertight body, there's not much place for that heat to go, especially if it's sitting still with no airflow and continuously recording at high resolutions and frame rates. And while this might not be how most GoPro owners use their cameras, that doesn't make it right for those things to cause the Hero 10 to overheat and shut down. So GoPro is addressing the problem with a firmware update arriving by the end of October. The modes basically limit what the camera can do in order to get the best results for how you're using the camera.

I just bought my Go Pro Hero 10 and been using the video to record my volleyball games that is usually minutes each game. Does anyone else experience this? It sucks that it always cuts off towards the end of each games. It's going to depend on what settings you're using and how you have the camera set up. If powering externally, ,remove the internal battery first. Here's a video that shows you how to prevent overheating issues. I think you have over charged the camera. As it need to be plug out from the charger when the battery of the camera full. As over charging causes such issues. Don't worry now make the full use of the camera battery and when it become empty so charge it upto normal level. This issue will be fixed. What version is the camera on? I've seen numerus posts here and elsewhere about how to deal with the known GoPro overheating issue. But here's my problem. I do extended recordings in warm conditions. By "extended" I mean hours straight using external power. I know external power can be a problem for overheating. I also don't care about what generation GoPro. I've seen videos with a HERO3 and the quality is fine for my purposes.
GoPro is issuing a firmware update that includes new "video performance modes. The company is also unveiling a new "Enduro" battery that should improve performance in cold weather. Well, it's not a cheap import. Can't place it on a table at room temperature and not expect it to overheat? When I took it out, it was super hot to the touch again.
