Certain staff members are still friendly, others not so great. Quality of the food has gone down for sure, and the last few times I didn't feel too well after eating here. Totally not worth it. Ordered a bunch of other things, none stood out to me. Lobster rice is the only thing worthy from this place.

Ever since Old Buddies closed their location on Alexandra Road in Richmond, it meant that their famous wontons could only be found at their original sister restaurant, Ho Yuen Kee. So what's the problem you may ask? Well, the Fraser Street location is indeed more convenient for me and I don't have to fight with luxury SUVs either, but the whole reason I avoided the place was their equally famous service or lack of. Alas, I returned to the place recently with Nora , Lesley and Joyce and had some of their greatest hits.
The broth itself was fragrant and flavourful, if not a touch salty. Spareribs Chow Mein. Beef with Chinese Parsley Thick Soup.

I have been in this restaurant at least more than a dozen time and each time it never failed me. I am from Houston where the chinese food is also pretty good but cannot compare to Ho Yuen Kee. I strongly recommend to anybody that visit Vancouver ,the wait sometimes is long but it is worthed. Think your friends might be familiar with this business? Not the best but not bad either. Try the lobster on sticky rice. Shredded Pork Chow Mein. Can get spicy options too. Beef Tendon with Noodle in Soup. It's great! Bean Curd Roll with Greens. The broth itself was fragrant and flavourful, if not a touch salty. Bar - B - Que Duck Half. Avoid dine in service. The lobster was perfectly cooked and the sticky rice had lobster flavour, yum! This excellent idea is necessary just by the way
