Kynesgrove or Kyne's Grove , also called Dragonwood or Dragon Wood , is a forested settlement located on the outskirts of Windhelm , on the other side of the Yorgrim River. The township is tiny as the only building is a simple inn called the Braidwood Inn. Kynesgrove has a mine located north of the Inn called the Steamscorch Mine which houses Malachite Ore , a common ore used to make Glass Armor , which is commonly used by Altmer of the Summerset Isles. Kynesgrove is the home of the Keepers of the Grove , a group of Nordic priestess that guard the Kynesgrove Forest, seeing it as sacred grounds for Kyne of the Nordic Pantheon. The closest settlement to Kynesgrove is the city of Windhelm to the north, the town of Lower Yorgrim to the northeast, and the village of Cragwallow to the southeast.

Kynesgrove is a small mining settlement located in Eastmarch. It is located directly south of Windhelm , half-way on the road between the Windhelm Stables and Witchmist Grove , and one-third of the distance to the Atronach Stone. The settlement consists of an inn, a malachite mine and several fields. The farm is owned by Ganna and Gemma Uriel , who failed to realize that only a small part of the land would be available for harvesting lumber because the nearby grove is sacred to Kyne. They can often be heard arguing about the life they left behind in Cyrodiil. Kjeld runs the mine and the whole settlement. Regardless of the Dragonborn 's actions, a dragon will attack Kynesgrove as part of the main storyline, and city guards frequently mention their shock and disgust at the dragon attack. Next to the inn is a smelter and a mine containing a fair number of malachite ore veins. Delphine believes that dragons are coming back to life and the next one will resurrect near the town of Kynesgrove.
