Some of their bikes have missed the mark — I throw the uber-expensive Brutale RR and RS machines into the mix here — but others have been pleasantly surprising namely the cc three-cylinder bikes , such as the Brutale and the achingly pretty Superveloce The MV Agusta Dragster RR is very much a Brutale in drag sorry , running the same motor and chassis set-up, but with more relaxed ergonomics, bodywork and wheels whose spokes only extend to the right side of the rear wheel on the single-sided swingarm. Race mode does have a bit of a hit to the throttle at low speed but Sport mode is where I spent almost all of my time and the ride was a pleasant one for the majority of situations encountered over my month with the machine. The engine is for sure the star of the show but the chassis is not far behind, even if the ride quality is a little crude. Despite this, the Dragster turns with almost sublime speed.

This is the complete review. There are two things most every motorcycle enthusiast realizes when it comes to MV Augusta motorcycles. They are exotically designed and beautiful, and they are also quite expensive. When we tested the MV Augusta Brutale a predecessor to the model under test here , we came away very impressed. First of all, MV Augusta had developed excellent engineering and performance solutions to go along with its exotic, good looks. It was still an expensive bike, but it performed quite competitively with the best competition. MV has outstanding, and even unique, features that have been engineered and tested to perform quite well in the real world. First and foremost, the cc triple makes enormous horsepower for its displacement. MV claims hp at the crank, which is frankly quite amazing for an cc triple. As we found out, the bike is indeed very quick, but we were unable to test this horsepower claim on a dyno.
Ride is hard initially when bedding in but got much more plush within miles. Back to the engine, which features new, higher pressure injection, entirely new exhaust system, and an up-to-date electronic control suite. This bike is not a good city bike.
Bought a brand new highly leftover for a steal last friday. Unfortunately due to rain and side effects of 2nd vaccine shot, didn't get to ride it again until today the next friday. Its three-cylinder motor that produces a claimed horsepower and 64 lb-ft of torque is present, as is the tubular steel chassis, trademark MV Agusta single-sided swingarm, 43mm Marzocchi fully adjustable front suspension and Sachs monoshock, and the same Brembo four-piston brakes mated to a Nissin master cylinder. So, what is different? The Dragster rolls on gorgeous cast aluminum spoked wheels, with the spokes only attached to the right side of the wheel. The big difference, however, is in the ride position. The Dragster utilizes a more cupped seat with a longer, flatter bottom section, which, depending on how you like your ride, is either good or bad. Now, compare this to the Brutale RR that costs nearly twice this much or the Brutale RR, for that matter , which has fixed passenger footpegs that crowd the muffler and look decidedly cheap. Sometimes, even MV gets their design cues wrong. They are difficult to adjust up and down left and right is no issue and tend to vibrate so much as to be basically useless. This makes the Dragster much more enjoyable in slow-speed situations while still retaining all the punch needed for when the road opens up.

With a claimed hp issuing from the cc triple and only pounds claimed dry weight the compact, lightweight machine can carve around any apex with elegance and teeth-baring power. Electronics like an improved ride-by-wire, up-and-down quickshifter, eight-level traction control, and ABS with rear-wheel lift-up mitigation come standard to enhance the ride. Make sure to stock up on knee sliders, because they will be quickly worn thin with this naked middleweight to thank. Updates to the lighting have been made. This includes a single-unit LED taillight and a new integrated light guide in the headlight. A new gearbox has also been implemented for easier lever actuation.

Good braking power and feel come courtesy of Brembo M4. Motorcyclists are a greedy lot, and we always want more power. If the bike felt heavy, then I guess I wouldn't mind, but its hard to describe. The quick shifter wasn't the smoothest, and didn't like being used at low speed so save it for when you're giving it a fistful. Italian bike if that kind of crap gives you a boner. I would keep this bike in my living room when not riding it as its a work of art. I visit here at least once a week. First motorcycle after years of running a 50cc scooter. I changed out the exhaust to a first party MV licensed exhaust not sure how to phrase it Rear-wheel travel: 5. Did they visit the nearest truck scrap yard to source that rear wheel? I did put on puppy grips or whatever they call it, it barely helped, so I cut them off after 2 months of use. The brand always seemed to be on shaky ground, with ownership changing hands several times. Value vs rivals 5 out of 5 Depending on how you ride will result in different servicing costs. Engine 5 out of 5 it's the bomb!..
