My full name is Emir Onur Cilek Romano. I'm an Ex-Muslim from Turkey.

My efforts in Turkey started in to , when I started to join skeptic and atheist online communities of turandursun. We shared a common passion which was to make progress in organized atheism in Turkish society. After grouping at the Taksim Gezi Park Protests in biggest secular resistance in Turkish history , my first attempt was to create a semi-political underground organization for the atheist representatives of all political parties and groups. The aim was to unite these leaders under one roof to work for a common cause by putting aside our political differences. We called this organization: Ateistler Meclisi Congress of Atheists. We reached our goal, however, we have also discovered that tolerating partisan politics was extremely harmful and divisive in an organization of free-thinkers.

I have volunteered in the most positions of the NonGovernmental Organization and personally hosted over events in Turkey in a total of 14 cities between with the above-mentioned organizations. Azerbaijan is another Turkish society that is much more secular, modern and liberal compared to today's Pro-Islamic Turkey in many ways. Education and secular policies of the state might have contributed in that regards even though the government can be highly criticized in many other ways as well as corruption, and various human rights violations. We are neighbors. We know. The feedback and communications we get from Azerbaijan show us that there is a great interest in secular and atheist human rights activism, especially from the Ex-Muslim community. Establishing the first legal entity of seculars, nonbelievers, and humanists which is recognized by the government will make our activities safe and legit. Organized atheism can make atheists more welcome in society by starting with the streets, schools, families, and in daily life.

My full name is Emir Onur Cilek Romano. I'm an Ex-Muslim from Turkey. I have devoted my life to fight for the rights of non-believers in the Middle East region since I see organized atheism in the developing countries in the Middle East region as the ultimate answer for an enlightened tomorrow. As a victim of false allegations, I've spent a total of three years imprisoned in Turkey. I was forced to fight tens of bogus charges brought by the Pro-Islamic Turkish government. I was slandered and crucified by the religious Turkish media outlets. The charges I was once acquitted of were reversed to Guilty from Not Guilty by higher courts, after my atheist activism made its peak.

I am now an asylum seeker in Canada since As a victim of false allegations, I've spent a total of three years imprisoned in Turkey.
