Occasionally you can get it wrong and this was brought home to me a few years ago when Edgar Brothers Remington imports sent me the Model You may not be aware of the , as you would not for a second think it was a Remington. It was however aimed at a very specific market - the occasional US hunter. There are thousands of these people, they buy their deer tag, hunt once a year and have no real interest in guns as regular shooters do. But they want a scoped, fullbore rifle that can knock down a white tail or two… Then they go home and stash the gun somewhere and forget about it, only to start the same process next year.

User Name Remember Me? November 21, , AM Dc I want to hear opinions on the I have one in. I've read a bunch of bad stuff about these guns and I'm thinking that those reviews are from people that haven't actually fired the gun, or people that have just heard stories. My bolt seems to be great. My buddy bought his before me and did have a problem with his magazine, but remington happily replaced it for free. Has anyone else had a pleasant experience with it like I have? November 21, , PM Boomer58cal. I'm probably the only guy here with a good experience. First off, it was a gift or I probably never would have owned this rifle. Mine is a 7mm mag.
I have had issues with it. I wasn't always able to afford a really nice gun and bought several budget guns when younger. Anyone happy with a 1.
I fire and test a lot of firearms. Some are impressive, and I cannot shoot up to their accuracy potential. Some, well, I get the measure of pretty quickly. At a range session on an outdoor range, an older gentleman walked by the table. I replied in the affirmative, figuring he was going to bash my economy rifle. The is one of these package guns designed to offer good value at a fair price.
If you came to this page because you just purchased a Remington or someone gave you one and you wanted to see what can be improved or is a problem: sorry, this article is not super positive. I think the Savage Axis and many of the other budget-priced bolt action rifle are pretty damn good for the price. This rifle is not. There are no high res images, there is a video that shows some issues with the rifle that are hard to describe in text, and all the headings are going to be different. It is not offered anymore in most shops in Canada or the US. Good riddance! These days, use of plastic and mass-manufactured parts for hunting rifle magazines is expected. In some uses, plastic is a better material. The Remington uses a poorly designed magazine.

The Model bolt-action rifle, by Remington, manages to raise a lot of eyebrows. Many times, when people hear the name , they immediately start bashing it. Some go so far as to call it a waste of money, or even a throwaway gun. It has been around about a decade, since , and is based primarily on the previous low-budget Model To be clear — yes, it is a budget rifle and is not presented as anything but that. Does that mean it is useless? Of course not. It may not be pretty, it may not be the greatest bolt-action rifle, and it may not be equipped with the best scope right out of the box, but it gets the job done, and it serves its purpose. The model is known for its cheap build. The build is still plastic, overall, but certain parts which received complaints during the time of the Model were replaced with steel.

No frills, just kills. Find More Posts by hbhobby. Anyone happy with a 1. I meant to type What I did not like though I can see why it was done is the cast-in sling points that will accept QD swivels. Some, well, I get the measure of pretty quickly. Has anyone else had a pleasant experience with it like I have? The end result was the Model ; probably the ugliest and most unlovely sporting rifle I have ever seen. In the day and age of cheap bargain and throw away guns Remington is behind the curve. They are better rifles that will have some value if someone decides to trade up to a better rifle someday.

This is a modern polymer tip bullet. I have had issues with it. It's getting up there on round count too! It is NOT a thick piece of steel! I'd gladly buy it from you for the right price. If you want a good range gun at a good price I really enjoy the Ruger American series of rifles and I have heard good things about their American rifle in 6. All this said, why buy trouble, literally? Some are impressive, and I cannot shoot up to their accuracy potential. The Tikka just felt better. Find More Posts by psychopuppy1. With that type of use they will generally provide a user many years of satisfactory use. I have fallen in love with the American Ranch rifle in Blackout.
Completely I share your opinion. It is excellent idea. It is ready to support you.
