La Trocha Del Boyero translates as 'path of the ox cart driver. A local couple took advantage of the opportunity to open a small restaurant on the road where people go out of their way to visit if they are in the area. Serving typical Costa Rican food with a little flair of Caribbean influence, you can enjoy fish, chicken or meat dinners with all the regular trimmings as well as a full bar for cocktails, sodas and beer. Specialties include fish with shrimp sauce, chicken with a coconut sauce and a lomita steak that is excellent. If you have a big appetite, they offer a platter with mixed portions of beef, fish and chicken along with a tasty rice and bean side flavored with coconut. Salad, patacones and fries top off most of the dishes offered.
