If your engine can still start and you have just minor problems driving, then yes, you can drive with a bad oxygen sensor. Service your vehicle by performing regular maintenance, particularly air filters and spark plugs. It then alters the ratio of air to fuel to ensure optimal combustion. An unreliable O2 sensor can lead to various issues, which range from reduced fuel efficiency to damage to the engine. One of the primary reasons to repair a defective O2 sensor is the decrease in fuel efficiency. This could lead to lower fuel efficiency as the engine may use excess or insufficient fuel. Low fuel efficiency implies more frequent trips to the gas station and can also cost you more over the long term. In addition, lower fuel efficiency could result in increased emissions, causing air pollution and leading to failed emissions.
