Yamcha meme
Yamcha's Death Pose is an image exploitable series based on a stillshot of DragonBall Z character Yamcha fallen on the ground after suffering a fatal injury in the battle against Saibaman, a relatively weak villain character. The images depict Yamcha or other anime character lying inside the crater and they are typically used to indicate failure or weakness. In the Saiyan saga of the classic anime series Dragonball Z [7] , the villain character Nappa makes use of an alien species called "Saibamen" to attack the main characters, including Yamcha. After one of the Saibamen attacks Yamcha using a self-destruction technqiue called the "Saibamen Bomb" which ends up killing both of them, Yamcha's corpse is left lying in the familiar pose. Such association of Yamcha and FAIL was established most likely due to the character's feeble strength in comparison to other Saiyan-blooded characters including his friends Goku and his son Gohan. The exploitable image quickly spawned a large volume of parody fanart and illustrations on the Japanese illustrators' community Pixiv [2] , which were soon picked up by a number of Yahoo Blogs. The drawing meme eventually made its way into the English web in , as seen on imageboard hubsites and anime-related forums like Danbooru [3]. Yamcha's death pose was further reiterated in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi [5] , wherein Saibaiman's suicide attack makes its enemy fall to the ground in the identical pose, and in Dragon Ball Z: Attack of the Saiyans [6] where Yamcha falls defeated in the same pose. The Dragon Ball franchise has a lot of capable and powerful fighters, some of the strongest in all of anime. However, if you asked any fan of the series, the scar-faced Yamcha wouldn't be among them. While he started out as a main protagonist in the original Dragon Ball, Yamcha's relevance and usefulness faded as characters became stronger and stronger. These days, Yamcha's more of a punching bag, for both the bad guys of the series who can very easily take him out and the fans alike. And of course, picking on poor ol' Yamcha became so much of a popular pastime that there are tons of memes for it. Representing what it feels like to be roasted by "the weakest dude in the squad," Yamcha's losing a bit more than his pride in this meme. Though if the "squad" is one that consists of Yamcha and Magikarp, then the rest of the members probably aren't all that impressive either. Some phone batteries can really last, others not so much and their battery life can be even shorter when mobile games get thrown into the mix.

Yamcha got his scars during the three-year time skip in the original Dragon Ball and they were given pretty much no attention. The exploitable image quickly spawned a large volume of parody fanart and illustrations on the Japanese illustrators' community Pixiv [2] , which were soon picked up by a number of Yahoo Blogs. It only serves to undercut its meaning. Finally, 20 years after Yamcha finally got his revenge. Z-Fighters fan. Surprisingly after all this time, Yamcha still has some level of confidence in himself, which is admittedly kind of admirable, but it hasn't shaken his bad reputation as the weakest Z-Warrior. There's a pose, there's a crater, there are leftover Saibaiman body parts. Protector of the innocent! DB fights started to become increasingly all about power levels, not about strategy. Defender of truth! I'd really like to see Yamcha be worth something in the DB universe. Fan's reaction to The Last of Us Part II was pretty harsh, to say the least, to the point where multiple posts and memes were made to mock the game.
Dragon Ball is an important part of our childhood. We remember the awesome fights, the breathtaking action scenes and the cool characters we all used to look up to.

Hilariously, this Spongebob meme accurately represents his power level across the franchise. And whenever anyone says how he is was? It is basically now the ONLY thing that defines his character and it is sickening. For Yamcha, his scars are just an extra detail added onto him and probably his only recognizable feature, but they don't make him a cooler character. I liked Yamcha in the original DB, and he was a nice character. But of course this is all my opinion. Doer of good!
