Poppy Playtime is a episodic horror video game developed and published by American indie developer Mob Entertainment. The player navigates through a first-person perspective and must solve puzzles, some requiring a gadget named the GrabPack, to progress while avoiding various enemies. The second chapter was released for Microsoft Windows on May 5, , and for iOS and Android on August 15, , and the third chapter was released on January 30, All chapters after the first are premium downloadable content. The game garnered positive reviews for its gameplay on its initial release, but the second chapter received mixed reviews for its numerous bugs , while the third chapter received positive reviews, with praise being directed at the heightened horror.

The Protagonist is main protagonist of the indie horror game Poppy Playtime , the first game in the franchise of the same name. They are a former worker from Playtime CO. The Player has not talked and the only known information about them is that they were formerly an employee for Playtime Co. The Player's physical appearance is not seen in-game, and any surfaces that could reflect the Player's appearance are shown as shadows. It is, however, known that the player is 5'10" to 6'0". With the GrabPack, they hold giant hands on each arm of different color. The Player is a determined individual, returning to the factory where people disappeared a decade ago and continuing to see their journey through. Their determination appears to stem from atonement, as it's heavily implied they played a role in the experiments' creation. They are very intelligent, as they effectively utilizes the environment to their advantage, whether it's for traversal purposes, solving puzzles, or fighting back against monsters. The Player also has more of a flight-than-fight instinct, often running away from monsters and only fighting back when cornered and given a chance. The player is shown to be agile in their movements, being able to turn around corners, scale in any direction and even run quickly, while still holding the GrabPack.
